Learn more about the Glenwood Substation:
The Glenwood Substation, SUB’s 9th substation, is key piece of infrastructure that will power the bright future of Glenwood. It will convert high-voltage electricity down to a voltage that can be distributed throughout the city initially via 3 backbone feeders or major distribution lines.
Once operational, this substation will support the approximately 800 existing residential and business customers in Glenwood, add capacity for additional development of residential neighborhoods and businesses in the area, and provide extra resiliency to adjacent neighborhoods in Springfield, including West Centennial and Downtown.
This project is part of our commitment to ensuring reliable, efficient energy for our community as it continues to grow. Our goal is to make the substation fully operational in 2026. View the project timeline here.
